The dilution of large droplets is of particular interest for the measurement of highly concentrated droplet aerosols, e.g., in the blowby at the engine, or for a precise determination of the aerosol concentration in raw and clean gas at compressed air filter efficiencies and the characterization of cooling lubricant separators.
The newly developed dilution systems LDD 10 and LDD 100 for droplets and dusts up to 10 µm are also available as heatable versions up to 120 °C to avoid condensation in sampling. This makes the LDD 10 and LDD 100 the first dilution system proven to dilute large droplets almost loss-free.
